BUILDING A STRONG TEAM

The Rising Star | Winter 2015 » Building A Strong Team
When a team understands how much a company cares about each individual person, the people will work harder, be more dedicated and can more easily operate as one unit. If the overall wellness of an organization is evaluated and treated holistically, a company can minimize mechanical and structural problems while maximizing culture and profitability.”

Centauri Remains Committed to Building a Strong, Healthy Team

Numerous studies indicate that the welfare of employees has a direct impact on the overall success of the company since healthy employees tend to be happier, more productive, and more satisfied with their jobs. Centauri Insurance understands the importance of investing in their most valuable asset; their employees.  As part of an ongoing effort to support workplace wellness, the company launched a new and improved employee fitness program in 2015.

The wellness program is comprised of several components including reimbursement for gym memberships, personal training or exercise classes, participation in organized races, and an optional company-sponsored weekly group fitness class called T3 Prep. In order to qualify for the reimbursement program, Centauri holds each of its employee accountable requiring them to complete at least 10 workouts each month.

The company-sponsored T3 Prep class is led by a locally recognized triathlete and personal trainer at a studio located just minutes from the corporate office in Lakewood Ranch, FL. Each weekly group session incorporates circuit and weight training, running, rowing and TRX ropes. Participants are encouraged to test their strength and endurance through a series of challenging fitness stations. The class helps to build a strong team and sense of camaraderie among employees. Of course, participation in T3 is optional and those who choose not to attend are encouraged to use that time to walk or run with co-workers outside of the office.

Throughout the year, team members also participate in a variety of races and fun runs such as the SUP & RUN 5K in Sarasota, FL, the Shipyard Old Port Half Marathon & 5K in Portland, ME, and the Make Difference 5K in Jackson, MS. Most recently, Centauri employees and their families engaged in some friendly competition and team building at the XTERRA Wildhorse Trail Run in Dover, FL on November 1st. Centauri’s President & CEO, Ricardo Espino, even placed first in the 10-mile Overall Men's category finishing in just 1:34:52.

In addition to these fitness programs, Centauri also offers a fully stocked kitchen with numerous healthy food options such as fresh fruit, salads and nutritional bars for its employees.
